We went to the Wölffer Estate in Sagaponack, New York two summers ago and it was absolutely breathtaking. With a beautiful backdrop and lush greenery one could easily waste the day here in bliss. We’ve been big advocates of Wölffer wines but were slightly disappointed when it came to the new release for this season: rosé table wine.
Generally speaking, there isn’t too much expectation when it comes to table wine but we thought Wölffer might raise the bar being such a prestigious vineyard.
It boasted a great deal of acidity and a tart aftertaste. The fruity aroma was less than pleasant and overall we had to pass on this one.
