Oh boy! Now you gone and done it! Had way to much Rosé all day? Or perhaps it was the 8 shots of tequila? Dirty martinis? Or are you on vacation at an all inclusive and basically spent the entire day at the pool bar? Whatever your poison we are here to offer 5 hangover fix tips!
1. Hydration. We can’t stress this enough, hydrate before, during, and after a drinking session. This is even more true if you’re at a higher elevation. When you consume alcohol your body loses water. It is imperative you replace this!
2. Rest. Sorry. That is probably not what you want to hear, especially if you have things to do the next day. If you over exert yourself you increase the risk of becoming even more dehydrated. There is also an increased risk injuring yourself. If you’re contemplating going to spin class after a night of drinking, we don’t really recommend it.
3. Green juice, kombucha (4), and coconut water (5) (in no particular order). We really stand by these health drinks! After a fun night out, we always binge on coconut water. At times we’ll consume 1/2 a liter to a liter each. Discovering coconut water has been a real “game changer.” Our favorite is Harmless Harvest.
Green juice, especially all vegetables juices are full of micro nutrients which are very cleansing for your body. If you’ve ever seen the documentary Fat, sick, and nearly dead you’ll understand why we believe in the power of juicing.
Kombucha is great because it contains trace amounts of B vitamins which are lost when you drink. There is also the added benefit of probiotics. Depending on your gut situation the next morning, this might be a good thing. 😉
